72-Year-Old Man Files For Divorce Over Constant Battery By Wife
Olayiwola Ajayi, a 72-year-old retired civil servant has reportedly filed for divorce at the Igando Customary Court in Lagos over suspected infidelity and constant battery from his wife, Isiwa.
He told the court:
“My wife is fond of beating me, she beats me on any slight provocation, I am tired of being brutalised. A day cannot pass without her laying her hands on me. I am afraid she may kill me one day if I still continue in the marriage.
My wife can leave the house for a week without telling me. When she returns and I query her about her disappearance from home, she always tell me that she went for vigil. I believe that she is seeing another man, she did not go to any vigil.”
His 44-year-old wife, Isiwa, however, denied the allegations and told the court that her husband always denied her sex.
“My husband is starving me of sex, he refused to make love to me, he will be giving me one excuse or the other.”
She appealed that the court should not grant her husband’s request as she still loves him.
The couple have been married for 20 years.
The man is seventy two for crying out loud there’s no way he can still be satisfying you sexually. When you were marrying him didn’t you consider he’s going to be old for you in no time? Am happy for once at least it’s not a woman that’s being battered here.
