Baby Boy Wearing Dirty Diaper Abandoned In Trash Bin
An 11-month-old baby boy covered in dust and wearing a dirty nappy was found abandoned in a trash bin. The poor baby was discovered by a man who heard what he thought was an animal making noises.
The crying boy was checked by paramedics before being taken to Omaha’s Children’s Hospital and Medical Centre for further checks, but he hadn’t suffered any injuries.
Police removed the bin for forensic tests and have now launched an investigation.
Witness Emily Winkle told local media in Nebraska: “I just can’t believe that someone can do that, just discard a baby like it’s a piece of trash.”
The man who found the boy said he “couldn’t believe” what he was seeing.
“It’s very disturbing, very upsetting and I couldn’t believe what I saw. I went and looked on the inside of the dumpster and I saw a little hand with an empty water bottle moving,” he said.
The name of the baby who has since been identified has not yet been released and it is not known whether his parents have been informed.
Captain Bryan Waugh, from the La Vista Police Department, said a bigger investigation needs to be carried out.
