Widow Claims A Pedicure-gone-wrong Lead To Husband’s Death

A widow, Latania Peterson-Carr, reportedly blames a suburban Chicago nail salon for her husband’s death and has filed a lawsuit on Friday in Cook County Circuit Court. She claims her husband’s death resulted from an infection picked up during a pedicure at the salon.

Latania claims her husband, Darryl Carr, suffered “serious burns” to his left foot and leg when workers at AZ Happy Nails in Sauk Village allowed his foot to soak too long during a pedicure in November. The lawsuit claims solutions used during the pedicure were contaminated.

According to the lawsuit, Carr’s leg later was amputated. Medical complications led to his death on June 4 of this year.

Peterson-Carr seeks at least $50,000 in damages. A person answering the phone Saturday at the salon said there was no way to reach a manager or owner for comment.
