Meet Two Sisters Who Gave Birth On The Same Day With Same Birth Weight

Two sisters Bridgette Exton and Karen Batley have been left elated after they both gave birth in the same hospital on the same day with their babies having the exact same weight.

According to Mirror, Karen was scheduled to have a caesarean on October 7 and delivered a girl Rose, surprisingly it was the same day Bridgette went into labour and delivered her boy, Sidney and both babies weighed exactly 6lbs 9oz.

First time mum Karen 33, believes a “special link” between her and her sister made her wake up at 2.20 am in the morning when Bridgette went into labour.

She said: “Obviously I didn’t actually know at that point until I spoke to mum in the morning. When we arrived the midwife was talking to us and I said about Bridgette being in labour and they said they would try to arrange for us to see her.  They actually saved the bed by the side of me and the ward sisters made sure that side of the ward was kept clear.”

Bridgette, 35, who has another son called Henry added: “I’m looking forward to the future, when they have their birthday parties together on the same day. Hopefully they will form a close bond and be able to look after each other as they grow up.”

Proud grandparents were not left out of the excitement as they were elated to have moved from having a grandchild to three grandchildren in a few hours.

Staff at the hospital where the births occurred were also excited as this was something that was not experienced regularly.
