How Wife Rescued 14-Year-Old Girl From Paedophile Husband in Lagos

A married man in the Ejigbo area of Lagos, Chinonso Amaraegbu, was arrested and charged to court for allegedly luring a 14-year-old girl, Priscilla Okpihwo, into an empty room in his home to have carnal knowledge of her, despite the fact that his wife was at home.

According to P.M. News, Amaraegbu saw the victim who was hawking second hand clothes and called her, pretending he wanted to patronize her. When the teenager entered his compound, he allegedly pushed her into an empty room and attempted to rape her, offering her money in return.

Overwhelmed by fear, the girl started crying and shouting. Amaraegbu’s wife, who was inside the house heard and forced her husband to open the door, rescuing the poor girl.

Neighbours who witnessed the incident contacted police at Ejigbo division and Amaraegbu was arrested.

During interrogation, Amaraegbu denied sexually assaulting the girl, claiming he had not touched her before his wife rescued her.

He was charged to court with sexual assault to which he pleaded not guilty and granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, The presiding Magistrate remanded him in prison custody at Kirikiri pending when he will perfect his bail.

The case was adjourned till 23 November 2015.
