Daughter Abandoned By Parents In A Shop For This Reason

A three-year-old girl’s parents abandoned her in a shop in Chengdu, south-west China, after she broke a water bottle Daily Mail reports.

The shop owner had asked for payment of 25 Yuan (£2.50) for the broken item but the parents refused to pay; instead, they left the girl and went home.

After being abandoned by her parents for close to nine hours, the girl was returned to her family by the police.
The mother, identified as Xiao, had resorted to leaving her child behind in the store rather than pay for a water bottle which the store owner insisted that the young girl had broken. She reportedly told the store owner that, ‘I don’t want the bottle. If you insist on compensation, I will leave my child with you.’

Her feeling were echoed by her husband, identified as Si who also was said to have slapped his daughter harshly, shouting, ‘It’s all your fault.’

The couple then left and abandoned the child.

The shop owner, Zhou, became worried and called the police who told her to be patient as no one could abandon their child in such a manner. However, by the time she was closing up her shop, the couple still hadn’t returned.
Zhou called the police again who came to pick up the girl. After much effort, they were finally able to deliver the girl to her nonchalant parents.
