Folorunsho Alakija is a Nigerian business woman and mum of four regarded as the third richest African woman after Isabel Dos Santos. She is involved in the fashion, oil and print industries, and also the executive vice chairman of Famfa Oil Limited, among others.

According to Vanguard, the wealthy mum who has four sons shared the following tips as the key to her success at her inauguration as the Chancellor of Osun State University. See below…

1. Do not accept ”NO” for an answer- Many doors were shut in my face but I refused to give up and kept going back and it paid off; see where I am today.
2. Be determined to succeed as there is always a way where there seems to be no way. Only the persistent and diligent find it.
3. Time is money, use it wisely.
4. Say ”No” to corruption.
5. Find mentors for practical guidance in your chosen career.
6. Find out God`s purpose for your life and embark on it.
7. Exercise patience and have courage. Courage is fear that has said its prayer.
8. Family influence.
9. Always remember that anything worth doing at all is worth doing well.
10. Don`t sit on the fence but come to Nigeria`s defence.
11. Proffer solutions and follow through.
