Mum Of Four Sons Spends £3,000 On Life-Like Dolls She Treats as Daughters

Leah Perry, a mother of four sons, has spent more that £3,000 (N853,152.15k) on life-like dolls she treats as the daughters she never had.

According to Mirror, Leah Perry, 38, who has been married to husband Chris, 42, for 13 years, estimates she has spent around £3,100 on clothes, toys and accessories for her five dolls which she pretends are the daughters she never had.

She said, ”I went online and started searching for baby dolls and came across these reborn dolls that looked real. It freaked me out- I wasn’t sure what they were used for or who made them. But it really got my interest.”

After further search, Leah discovered that many mums owned several dolls and dressed them up in adorable outfits – regardless whether they have children of their own.

Leah said she has five dolls named, Scarlett Winter, Amberlee Elise, Harlow Annalise, Linlee Michelle and Ava.

She added,

”I get to use the girls’ names I would have had for my own daughters, and buy all the sweet clothes and bows for their hair. They fill in that missing part in my heart. I would love to have daughters, but I didn’t – so now I have reborn. It’s a very fulfilling thing because I can dress them in the way I want. They are the daughters I never had…

My husband thinks they are a great hobby for me because he knows I love painting them and creating them for customers, and he knows it’s a bit of my time. But he won’t pick them up – he associates dolls with girls and he’s a bit of a guys-guy.

I do get a lot of people who tell me that I’m crazy and that they’re not real children. They don’t understand that it’s just role-play.”

Two of Leah’s boys adore and even take part in dressing and holding the dolls while the other two find them unnerving.
