Ronke Shonde: Autopsy Report Claims She Died From Respiratory Seizure

The long awaited autopsy report on late Ronke Shonde, the mother of two allegedly beaten to death by her husband, Lekan Shonde, two weeks ago in their Egbeda home, in Lagos, is out.

Punch reports that the final autopsy report, which just got to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, revealed that the late Ronke Shonde did not die from domestic violence but from respiratory seizure.

According to a very reliable source who said: ”The final autopsy result has been released. In fact, it is just getting to the SDCI. The summary of the report is that she did not die from the bruises on her body. She died from respiratory seizure.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Police Command, Dolapo Badmos, confirmed that the police had got the report, adding that the details would be released today, 19th of May, 2016.

Another report, as reliably gathered by Vanguard, reached detectives at about 8.45p.m. yesterday, 18th of May, 2016, claiming that it attributed late Ronke Shonde’s death to some injuries in the head.

The report also revealed that water clustered in her head. Again, the report which was reportedly signed by one Dr. Shoyemi, a Pathologist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Ikeja, stated that the victim died as a result of RESPIRATORY SEIZURE. But it ruled out the possibility of her death due to violent marks on her face and the bruises on the corpse could not establish the cause of her death.

Sources said further medical checks finally attributed the cause of her death to ”respiratory seizure as a result of water in the head and some injuries also in the head.”

Going by the report, sources said detectives would then continue with the next line of investigation, which reliably will include, among others, the mental stability of the deceased husband, who is still in their custody.

  • Hmmm Nigeria my country na wa. I will go with ‘… some injuries in the head’

  • She may die due to respiratory seizure, but that doesn’t rule out the fact that she’s been abused in the past and present. They should treat with matter with decorum and grant justice to her family, that man shouldn’t be set free just like that, so others can learn.

  • Respiratory seizure as a result of domestic violence abi!? Kai they just want this man to go free smh. Naija sha hmmmmmmm.

  • This is what happens when the dead cannot speak. I think its important we all have that one confidante in our lives. I can see the need for that.

  • Respiratory seizure as a result of malaria or what?….injuries on the head;where does that lead us to?This is disturbing to say the least.A lesson for all of us.

  • shai!!!! My fellow woman! Shai, Justice in Nigeria s as dead as Ronke Shonde. What ceased her respiration? What brought about bruises/injuries on her head? Ewo!! Chukwu kere umunwanyi!! Anyone who witholds justice from d dead wil follow suit!!

  • and who gave her those bruises huh? well, na Naija weh we deh sha. rest in peace my fellow woman. i weep for your kids.

  • Wow! Not surprised at all, was not expecting them to get an accurate result. If you are ruling out domestic violence as cause of death, so what led to the seizure? Obviously domestic violence lead to head injury, and possibly the seizure.

  • Hmmm. The injuries in the head still points to physical abuse. Women, should learn not to endure things like this in the name of wanting to remain in marriage or for the sake of their children. Now, she is no more to take care of the children. Big lesson!!!

  • People commenting injustice, how re they sure the man killed his wife, the autopsy reveal she died of seizure, let the men of the nigeria police force conclude on their investigation first,if all said & done it is now discovered that the said husband is innocent..moreover the husband said he didn’t kill his wife
