4 Year Old Decapitated in Fatal Car Crash Miraculously Makes Full Recovery

A 4-year-old boy whose skull was separated from his spine has miraculously survived without surgery.

According to reports, Killian Gonzalez, miraculously survived after he was internally decapitated in a car accident and wouldn’t have made it without the help of a passerby, who held his head perfectly still until paramedics arrived.

The lucky boy and his mother, Brandy Gonzalez, were traveling to Nevada after celebrating his birthday when their car lost control due to ice and crashed into another vehicle leaving both gravely injured, Telegraph reports.

Good Samaritans, Leah Woodward, and her husband, a policeman, were coming down the hill and saw the crash unfold in front of them.

Leah quickly ran out of the car to see if there were any survivors and then she heard a little boy screaming from the car. Her husband immediately smashed the crashed car’s back window so she could climb in and help.

She held his head straight for over half an hour. A move that likely saved his life.

Although she wasn’t aware of it at the time, the boy had suffered a clinical decapitation, meaning his skull had become separated from his spine.

She said: “I’m trying to stay calm but inside I’m panicking. I’m thinking I don’t know what I’m doing, and it was the worst feeling I’ve ever had to not know how to help.”

Very few people survive a clinical decapitation but, thanks to Woodward’s intervention, Killian is expected to make a full recovery.

Killian’s mum, who suffered a broken arm and leg in the crash, said: ”He’s shocked everyone there. They keep telling me he’s the talk of the hospital.”

Killian and his mother have been treated in separate hospitals since the accident.

“It’s just so hard because I’m in the same town and I haven’t been able to see him,” Gonzalez said.

“It’s just hard knowing he’s in so much pain and I can’t be there.”

She also expressed huge gratitude for Woodward’s actions, crying: “She saved my baby, she gave him back.

Killian is now eating, walking, and even sitting up by himself. All without surgery.
