5 Reasons We Think Anna Banner is One Cool Single Mum

Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2013, Anna Ebiere Banner is a model and exquisitely beautiful single mum of one. The 21-year-old welcomed her adorable daughter, Sophia, with popular high life crooner, Flavour, in August, 2015.

1. She’s a doting mum & always shows it. Anna keeps serving us loads of mummy-daughter goals on Instagram. A look at just a few photos of her with her cute-pie is sure to give lots of aspiring mums some Instagram envy.

2. She knows when to move on. Anna recently revealed in an interview with SDK that she is no longer with her baby’s father, Flavour. She also spilled she didn’t know he was involved with ex-MBGN, Sandra Okagbue, whom he welcomed his first daughter with, when they started their relationship.

She said,

“I never knew flavour was with another woman while we were dating. We started dating way before ‘Golibe was composed’. He never mentioned/admitted he had any relationship ties with anyone even after rumour had it that he was dating someone else and she was even pregnant for him. I believed him.

I confronted him again when I heard she had put to bed and it seemed true. He accepted after much talk but unfortunately I was already pregnant, never knew I was pregnant until I was one month gone…”

There were previously viral rumours that Flavour had settled down with Sandra, though the musician subsequently dispelled the rumours.

Anna didn’t categorically state what made her decide to split from her baby’s father, but we think having enough courage to admit their relationship was not working out and taking the bold step to quit is just super cool and worthy of emulation.

3. She kept her baby despite the odds. Though she admits it was a tough decision, perhaps considering her age and the fact that getting married to Flavour was not on the horizon, she chose to keep her pregnancy. She told SDK,

“…What was I supposed to do? Take out my precious child? Hell no. I believe God sent her to me for a reason. I made an adult decision at a young age and I am so proud of myself for keeping my baby.

I never decided to become a baby mama, I just fell in love. I fell in love and got pregnant unexpectedly for the man I loved. I had never gotten pregnant before and I was scared of abortion.

I decided to keep my baby no matter what. I never tried to hold a man down or force marriage on anyone with my pregnancy. You know in life, the hardest decisions always turn out beautiful. I don’t regret keeping my baby one bit. She is my greatest achievement in life so far. I fall in love with her every second of the day.”

4. She’s cool with her daughter’s dad regardless. Despite her differences with Flavour, Anna is not resorting to badmouthing him or playing the victim. She’s decided to remain amicable with Flavour so they can maintain a united front for Sophia’s sake. That’s one cool trick to single parenting success!

5. She’s not letting becoming a single mum upstage her dreams. Though she probably planned baby-making for much later, she’s not starting herself on the ‘if onlys’ and throwing herself a pity party. Anna says she’s dusted herself up and is taking the future by storm!

She said,

“Yes, I plan to go back to School and I plan on a whole lot of things. I won’t say my getting pregnant put a setback in my plans because my baby is the best thing that ever happened to me but I have plans to return to school soon. The future is bright for me…”
