Pakistani Mum Arrested After Murdering Her Pregnant Daughter for Violating Family Norms

A mother has been arrested by police in Pakistan following the suspected killing of her pregnant daughter for marrying against the wishes of her family, the latest in a series of so-called “honor killings” in the conservative Muslim country.

According to NYDailyNews, Arshad Mahamood, a local police officer said on Saturday that the mother, Amina Bibi and her son slit the throat of her 22-year-old daughter Muqadas Tofeeq in the village of Butrawala in Punjab province, Pakistan.

Mahamood claims Tofeeq, who was the mother of a 10-month-old infant, was lured into her parental home, where she was killed on Friday.
