Man’s Simple Act Of Kindness To Mum-of-twins Applauded On Social Media

Coty Vincent, a mother of twins from Oklahoma, USA, has praised a rental car agent for his simple act of kindness at a rental car company.

According to CNN, the mother of 11-month-old twin boys, Holt and Levi, went to an Enterprise Rent-A-Car company in Tulsa, USA, with her sons to rent a car after a hit-and-run accident.

Since she did not own a twin stroller, she had to hold one of the babies as she tried to fill out paperwork. But the 25-year-old Enterprise employee, John Goodlett, quickly came to her aid and held one of her twins while she got all the paperwork sorted.

Goodlett had earlier picked up Vincent from her Oklahoma home and brought her back to the Enterprise office. The mother told TODAY“He grabbed one of the boys out of his car seat and I grabbed the other and we went inside.”

She expected him to return her son to her “and let me fend for myself” with the boys, but he surprised her by heading straight for the counter where he began processing her order.

She continued, “So I kind of moseyed on over to where he was working, playing with one son while he had the other one. He was working away, holding him like a champ, like he’s done it his whole life. I can’t even multitask that good.”

The mother was so touched by the small act of kindness that she snapped a photo of Goodlett, typing on the computer with one hand while holding her son with the other, and posted it on Facebook.

She wrote on Facebook, “This is John and he works at Enterprise. He’s also a twin and his twin sister is his best friend. While he helped me with my rental due to a hit and run accident, he held one of my twin sons as I don’t have a double stroller. One of the most compassionate and caring people I’ve ever met. We need more people like John who go that extra step. Be a John,#BeAJohn.”

The post went viral, with more than 190,000 likes and 21,000 shares in just a few days, according to CNN.

Surprised by the attention, Goodlett insisted that he was just doing his job. He said,”I’ve never had this much attention, especially for just doing my job. I was a college athlete so I try to take the hard work it took on the football field and apply it in the branch, and it’s really motivating to see people like who I am and what I do.”

Vincent, who has since received a much needed stroller from the company, said that Goodlett set a good example for everyone.
She said, “I think that this world would be a better place if we all would just be a John. And we have to be that change that we want to see. We want to see more people like John, well, it starts with us.”
