Lagos Monarch’s Abductors Finally Contact Family | Demand N500 Million Ransom

On July 16th, unknown gunmen suspected to be militants reportedly stormed the palace of the Oniba of Ibaland, Oba Yushau Oseni, and abducted him, killing two persons and injuring one of his wives in the process (read here).

New Telegraph reports the abductors have now contacted the 74-year-old monarch’s family, demanding N500 million ransom.

It is not clear if the monarch’s family is negotiating with the miscreants, however, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, previously assured that efforts were ongoing to rescue the monarch and arrest the suspects.
