Aisha Buhari Under Fire For Shaking Hands With Belgian Minister, Didier Reynders
The first lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, who is currently in Brussels, Belgium, was given an award at the African Women’s Forum on “Women’s Role in Global Security” and it was presented to her by the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign & European Affairs, Didier Reynders.
Elated Aisha posted a photo of herself as she received the award, and some Muslims descended on her, criticizing her heavily and describing the act as ‘unislamic’.
Though some commenters defended the seemingly innocent handshake, they were outrightly outnumbered. See comments below.
