Amazing! Meet ‘Twins’ Who Were Actually Conceived 10 Days Apart

Kate Hill was told she may never conceive due to a condition she had known as  polycystic ovary syndrome, but she defied nature and doctors predictions by conceiving twice in 10 days, making medical history.

Healthline describes Polycystic ovarian syndrome, or PCOS, is a condition in which a woman’s levels of the sex hormones estrogen and progesterone are out of balance. This leads to the growth of ovarian cysts (benign masses on the ovaries). PCOS can cause problems with a women’s menstrual cycle, fertility, cardiac function, and appearance.

Kate and her husband Peter soon found out they were pregnant with two babies, conceived at different times, even though the couple say they only had unprotected sex once and Kate went under a series of hormone drugs. In an interview with Today Tonight Adeleaide kate says:

“What makes this case even more rare, is that my husband and I only had intercourse one time – his sperm stayed alive for 10 days to fertilize the second egg released, We actually didn’t realize how special that was until they were born Usually a woman doesn’t ovulate once they’re pregnant with all the hormones, but Charlotte was coming no matter what.”Mrs Hill
