Disturbing Video Shows How Nursery Attendant Got Baby’s Skull Fractured During Shocking Abuse

A nursery worker’s shocking attack on a 9-month-old baby left in her care was caught on CCTV. The disturbing footage shows the nursery worker, identified as Afsana Shaik, beating, throwing and kicking the baby, Ritisha Sinha, during nap time on her first day at the daycare centre in western India.

According to Mirror UK, the baby’s father, Rajat, 31, said:

“Ritisha was fast asleep but there was a bruise under her eye. When my wife asked about it, the centre owner said she had hit herself while playing.

Initially, we thought that Ritisha may have been stressed because it was her first day, and we believed the caretaker.

But at home, she was crying continuously and refused to eat anything.”

Rajat and his wife, Ruchita, 29, later found more bruises on their baby’s back and behind her ear. She also developed a fever and started vomiting.

She was taken to the hospital the next day, and a CT scan soon revealed she had suffered a small fracture at the back of her skull, which had led to internal bleeding. Doctors told her worried parents the fracture and internal bleeding were likely caused by an assault.

Her parents subsequently demanded to see CCTV footage at the nursery but the owner of the nursery, Priyanka Nikam, refused their request, saying they had to file a police report first. Nikam and the nursery attendant were later arrested after police officers checked CCTV footage and uncovered the assault.

The baby’s mum, Ruchita, said: “We could not believe our eyes while watching the CCTV footage.”

Her dad, Rajat, added: “It was inhuman. The carer was manhandling my daughter – hitting her with toys and throwing her on the mat. We just saw what she did to my baby, who knows how she is treating the other kids at the centre.”

Nikam has reportedly been released on bail while the attendant is still in police custody and facing charges over the assault.
