One More Reason Not To Trust Anyone With Your Kids: Boy Stolen By A Family Friend, Sold To Woman Who Needs A Male Child

If you thought that neighbour, friend or acquittance of yours could be trusted with your male or female child, here’s one more reason to have a rethink.

The Police in Abia State have liberated a 4-year-old boy, Obinna Ozuoba, from child traffickers. Two suspects, were arrested on account of this kidnap. A man, Rowland Egbe, 30, the suspected culprit, and a 50-year-old woman, Mrs. Chioma Ohajinmmadu, suspected to be the boy’s intending buyer.

The lad, who was ensnared with biscuits and Gala, has been reunited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Uzoma Ozuoba. According to the  Police Commissioner of Abia State, Mr. Leye Oyebade, Egbe,was arrested while taking the abducted lad to the intending buyer.

Egbe, stated that he had earlier sold a female child to Ohajinmmadu via a middle-man, Uche, and was paid N50,000 out of the agreed price of N150,000. However, Chioma insisted on a male child, thereby prompting the kidnap of Obinna. He added that he knew Obinna’s parents and the boy knew him.

According to the commissioner, Egbe had earlier sold another boy, Maxwell, two weeks prior to his arrest. Egbe reportedly worked in conspiracy with one Uche, who is said to be currently at large.

In an interview, the buyer, Ohajinmmadu, stated that she decided to buy the boy because she did not have a male child. According to her,

“I paid N150,000 for the boy that was first sold to me. But I gave him to another woman because I wanted a fair complexioned boy whose skin would blend with that of my family.” .

She claimed that she did not know where the woman who purchased the first boy, identified as Maxwell, from her lived, as the business was transacted on the street.
