Gov. Rochas Okorocha Praises Wife Nkechi as She Bags ‘Most Outstanding Governor’s Wife’ Award

Nkechi Okorocha, wife of the Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, has been honoured with the “Most Outstanding Governor’s Wife Award” by the Nigerian Union of Journalists  (NUJ) in Owerri.

Her proud hubby showered her encomium saying in his administration, his wife controls over four ministries.

Governor Okorocha, who was represented by the Secretary to the state government, George Etche at the commecommemoration  event, listed the achievements of Okorocha’s wife in 6 years, saying she deserved it, Vanguard reports.

He also named the ministries the First lady managed successfully as “Women Affairs, Works, Health, as well as the office of the Secretary to the State Government.”

“We should thank God Almighty for giving us Owelle Rochas Okorocha who has offered us free education at all levels. We should also thank God for giving us his wife, Nkechi Okorocha, for putting smiles in the faces of the less privileged in the state.

“It is difficult to see first ladies do this kind of thing. You see that over 200 widows have gotten houses in Imo State,” Etche said.
