See What Happens After Father Misses Work To Witness Son’s Birth

A security guard, Lamar Austin, was on duty when his wife, went into labour. Informing his supervisor about the situation, he got this response:

“You’re forcing my hand, if you aren’t in work by 8 tomorrow we are going to terminate you.”

His son arrived around 1 AM on New year’s day and then he got a message that he had been sacked from work.

His story was published in a local newspaper, and  it touched many, including a woman named Sara Persechino, a very influential woman.

Persechino created a ‘GoFundMe’  campaign to help the family financially until Lamar, secured another job.

She said:

“No one should have to choose between their family and their job, welcoming a new baby to a family should be a joyous time.”

The campaign helped to raise $2000, and more importantly, 3 employers have now offered Lamar a job.

His previous company has been criticizing the media for mirepresentation, however they have since failed to give their own side of the story.
