Incredible! Woman Delivers Cross River State’s 1st Set of Quintuplets after 10 Years of Childless Marriage

The amazing story of a couple in Calabar, Cross River State, has touched the lives of many after they welcomed quintuplets on Monday, January 9, 2017, after ten years of a childless marriage.

CrossRiverWatch reports that the government of Cross River said the quintuplets were the first in the state’s history. The babies were delivered at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH).

Wife of the state governor, Linda Ayade, shelved a scheduled journey to rush down to witness what the hospital management says is the first of it’s kind in the facility.

The stunned First lady, who is also a medical doctor, revealed that she had only heard and read about how quintuplets have been delivered but has never witnessed it before. She extended the sincere congratulations of the first family to the parents of the babies and donated N1m, with an incubator for the management of the new babies.

She also donated N500,000 to the medical team, led by Prof. Iklaki, who delivered the babies.

The State Commissioner for Health , Dr. Inyang Asibong, also congratulated the father, Ekpo Edet, of the babies who in spite of the whole tension and expectations during the period of the pregnancy was steadfast as it has been a long wait for the couple.

The Director General of the Primary Health Care Agency, Betta Edu, described the birth of the babies as a miracle and urged the parents to  opt for family planning henceforth.
