Parents Torture their 3 Year Old Daughter After Accusing Her of Witchcraft
The Child’s Right And Rehabilitation Network (CRARN), reports that a 3-year-old girl, identified as Sarah from Amichi, Nnewi, Anambra State, went through terrible torture from her own parents after they accused her of witchcraft.
The child was kept outside to suffer in all kinds of weather. Some of the time, she was continuously drenched by rain through the nights and days, and sometimes she was locked up in a dark room with no food or water.
CRARN was deeply concerned about the health situation of little Sarah, and so they informed the Nigerian Police Force, Anambra State Command to investigate this case and bring the parents of the child to justice as well as her accuser, who was reportedly one of the prophets who accused the child of witchcraft.
The Anambra State Police Commissioner, Sam Okaula, confirmed that his department had rescued the little girl and also arrested her parents. He confirmed that the child was hospitalized and now undergoing intense medical treatment.
He revealed that the little girl also has mental challenges, which could be one of the reasons the parents were tired of her and possibly made her pass through such horrible circumstances. He said investigations were ongoing on the aspect of abuse on the child.
