Nigerian Air Force Officer Kills Female Colleague Alleged to be his Lover | Calls her a Witch “who pretended to be good”
On Sunday, a Nigerian Air Force personnel, Kalu B.A, shot dead his female colleague and alleged girlfriend, Oladipupo Solape a.k.a Shomzy Shomzy, in Benue State, over suspicion that she was cheating on him.
According to their classmates, he killed her out of jealousy. The incident occurred at the NAF Tactical Air Command, Makurdi, Benue State.
Reports claim that the pair began dating each other after they met at a parade. Kalu raised speculations that he might have killed himself as he described yesterday as his last day as an airman and even wished himself ‘RIP’ on Facebook.
It is believed that his last post which was at ‘4:36‘ was the time he killed the young girl. In the post, he said: “My last night as an airman. Ask about me later and hear my story, you will be surprised.”
Meanwhile, according to Punch, a statement by Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, the Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force revealed that:
”An airman and an airwoman were involved. They had a love relationship which resulted in the shooting. We do not yet know what transpired between them.
She was initially rushed to NAF hospital, but when it was beyond their control, she was transferred to the state hospital where she died. The body has been recovered to our base now.
The boy (Kalu) has been arrested. He did not die. The post on the social media is mere speculation. He is alive and in custody. Investigations are ongoing into the incident. We will unravel the circumstances that led to the incident.”
Most of his Facebook post shows that he may have been obsessed with the woman as he tagged her on all his posts and had even declared that he could kill for her. Shomzy, however stopped tagging him in her Facebook posts since January, 2017 indicating that they may have broken up.
Daily Trust gathered that Kalu had pulled the trigger on his girlfriend in the early hours of yesterday at their quarters in the base when he allegedly caught her with another man said to be a civilian.
It was learnt that jealous Kalu also made an attempt to shoot the civilian before his gun failed him during which process the yet-to-be identified lover escaped and raised the alarm, attracting other soldiers in the neighbourhood to the scene.
Still on the case, the accused left a suicide note before attempting to take his own life but apparently, he ended up being too scared to kill himself. In the note, he described his lover as a Witch “who pretended to be good”in his eyes and “in the eyes of (his) loving mother.”
“I’m a guy who pulled two rounds in a witch and one round in my f**king body. For it is said that he who kills by the sword shall die by it. Most idiots will insult me… if they were to be in my shoes they would even put more than three rounds on the witch,” Kalu said.
