11 Year Old Girl Set to Become Britain’s Youngest Mother

An 11-year-old girl will become Britain’s youngest mother next month. The young girl whose identity can not be revealed for legal reasons, is from the East of England.

It is not known whether she will have to have a caesarean section.

According to Mirror, the father of the unborn child is believed to be another minor just a few years older than the mother. Details of the pregnancy have been withheld due to legal restrictions and local authorities are reportedly working with the mum-to-be, offering counselling to her and other involved parties.

The case has been linked to improvements in contraception advice for young women and access to abortion services.

Last month, a previous young mum, Tressa Middleton, in Britain revealed she was expecting again. Now 23, she first got pregnant at 11 after she was raped by her brother and gave birth at age 12. Her daughter was taken into foster care.

In 2014, another 12-year-old girl from London was reported to have given birth, making her the current youngest mother in Britain.
