This Mum’s Fight With Cancer Inspires Hope, Even as She Dies a Day After Giving Birth to Her Twins

Jamie Snider is an inspiration to all women, as she fought cancer with an honest and open smile always on her face, throughout the pain, stigma, and chemo. She was really brave, says her friend, Larina Campanile.

Here is what Larina said in an interview with ABC7’s Eye witness:

Jamie was a patient at the Stanford Medical Center, where she fought for her life with cancer and won a few years back, but lost an ovary in the process. Years later, Jamie was surprised and shocked to find out that Larina had still gotten pregnant, and was expecting twins. The only not so pleasant side of the story was that the cancer had returned. She became a patient once more  and she had intensive treatment through the pregnancy, including chemotherapy, and she beat the cancer again.

Last week, bald and about to pop, Jamie published a Facebook post, flashing her signature smile and shared:

‘Tomorrow will be a great day, God has been by my side the whole time. All your prayers and love have kept me going as well. Wish me luck. I’m having a C-section at 7 and then a radial hysterectomy right after. I’ll be fine. Thank you, God, for keeping me positive through all the hard times.”

Jamie went through the surgeries successfully, but a day later, her heart failed and she died.

“What gives me peace in my heart is she got to see those babies and hold them and be with them a little bit,” Larina said.

Camila and Nico, her twins, were born prematurely. Family members say they’re tiny, but also healthy. It is the hope of everyone that they grow up with their mother’s smile and positivity.
