Hollywood Actor Pierce Brosnan Talks about Fatherhood, Losing His Wife & Daughter to Cancer in all New Interview

Before Daniel Craig took over the James Bond enterprise, Hollywood Irish actor, Pierce Brosnan, was the face we were all familiar with.

Mirror reports that the ex-James Bond actor granted a new interview with Esquire magazine, in which he opens up about a series of difficulties he had faced in his life, including losing his wife and daughter to ovarian cancer, and growing up without a father figure.

Pierce categorically said that he is not one of those people who choose to believe that the philosophical cup of life is half full.

He got married to his first wife, Cassandra Harris, who died at age 43 after a long battle with ovarian cancer in 1991. They had been married for 11 years. Together they shared a daughter, Charlotte, she was Cassandra’s daughter from a previous relationship, but Pierce legally adopted her. She however died of the same disease in 2013.

The 63-year-old hunk also revealed that he grew up without the presence of a father. His mother moved to London for work, leaving him to live with relatives after their father abandoned them.

“My fatherly instincts are purely my own. They relate back to no one, because there was no one,” he said.

He also shared that he met his dad once and would have liked to have got to know him a lot better, but that never happened. Pierce remarried in 2001 to American journalist, author, television host/correspondent, glamour model and actress,  Keely Shaye Smith, and together they have two children, Dylan Brosnan, Paris Brosnan.
