Unbelievable! Police Rescue 8 Year Old Girl Found Living with Monkeys in the Forest (Photos/Video)

An 8-year-old girl raised by monkeys, who acts and behaves like an animal, has been rescued from a forest in India.

The girl is unable to speak, reportedly walks on all fours, gaggles, screeches, makes animal noise(s) and doesn’t talk like humans. She was found wandering with no clothes and was emaciated when she was discovered in a remote nature reserve in Bahraich, Northern India, in January and taken to a hospital.

The girl was spotted by sub-inspector Suresh Yadav, who was on a routine patrol in Motipur range of Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary. When he tried to rescue the youngster, who seemed to be comfortable with the apes, they screeched at him and so did the girl.

However, the cops after great efforts, managed to rescue the girl and got her admitted to the district hospital, The Times of India reports.

It was also gathered that the girl runs on her arms and legs and eats food off the floor with her mouth, D.K. Singh, chief medical superintendent of the government-run hospital, said.

After treatment, she has begun walking normally and eating with her hands.

“She was rescued and brought here. When she arrived here, her hair was disheveled and she was not wearing any clothes. She was very thin and weak, and it seemed like she had not eaten for many days.

Her behaviour was totally like an animal. The way she moved, even her eating habits were like that of an animal. She would throw food on the ground and eat it directly with her mouth, without lifting it with her hands. She used to move around using only her elbows and her knees.

She is still not able to speak, but understands whatever you tell her and even smiles,” Singh added.

She is being looked after in hospital, where doctors say she remains frightened of humans and is prone to bouts of anger and violence.

Police are trying to determine how the girl got into the forest and who her parents are. Meanwhile, she will be sent to a home for juveniles until she is identified, Singh said.
