Dear MIMsters: He suspected I was having an affair, so He did this to me

I am a nursing mother, yet, my husband suspected I was having an affair with a man in my village whom he he saw me talking to in my family house during my grand mum’s burial. I got back to where we lodged that same night around 1:30 past midnight. Then he started asking me what was going on between me and the man he saw me talking to.

I was shocked and when I tried to defend myself, he landed a hot slap across my face and started punching me while I was breadfeeding my baby. Some neighbours started knocking when they heard the noise coming from our house. When he opened the door, I ran outside and he started pursuing. He pursued me that midnight into the streets.

He caught up with me and continued beating me, saying that he will kill me. I called my parents and the next morning, they my came to take me and my baby home. Since then, I have been living in our village. My father decided to take the matter to welfare. When he heard, he posted a message on Facebook that he caught me having sex with another man in his bed. He did this in other to tarnish my image.

How do I handle this? I need your advice asI don’t think it will be wise for me to return to that house. I nearly collapsed that night due to his beating. Our marriage is not even up to one year old.
