”My son was killed, he never drowned in the pool” – Super Falcons Coach Florence Omagbemi

Super Falcons’ coach, Florence Omagbemi, who is currently mourning, has said that the death of her 15-year-old son, Samson, was not an accident but that he was killed.

We had earlier reported that Omagbemi, lost her son (read here), on Wednesday, June 14, in a swimming pool at a hotel in Effurun, Delta State, where they had gone to Golden Tulip Hotel along PTI junction Effurun for “an after exam party.”

In a swift reaction to viral report of how the teenager died with a friend whose bodies were found in a pool, the Nigerian football icon, insisted that her son, was murdered, Today News gathered.

They were discovered two days after going missing on Monday.

Omagbemi, in an interview said that the circumstances of Samson’s death made the tragedy hard to accept.

“I feel so shattered that they killed my son. What kind of after school party will a teacher organized for 15-year-olds without the consent of their parents?

To make matter worse, the teacher took the young students to a hotel to celebrate the completion of their JSS exams.

I believe the boys were purposely taken to the hotel to be killed. This is too much for me to even think of or bear.

There is nothing the teacher who took the students to the hotel for an after exams party will tell me that I will believe because they kill them on purpose.

The party was on Monday and the boys had been missing since then. My family reported to the police since that Monday and repeatedly went to the hotel where they had the party without finding the boys till Wednesday.

It means they were killed and later dumped into the pool when my family kept going there. How can two bodies be in a hotel pool from Monday and never noticed till Wednesday?

And they took the bodies to the mortuary without even contacting the police or the school? This is too much for me.”

The AFCON winning coach adopted Samson following the death of her sister barely six months after his birth.

Samson, before his untimely death was a JSS 3 student of Challenge International School, Kolokolo Udu Road, Warri.

  • This death needs to be investigated. That teacher needs to be arrested and thoroughly investigated.

  • Hmmm! After exam party for Junior Secondary Students? And without their parents’ knowledge? In a hotel? There is more to the death that the teacher will shed light on.
