See Twitter User’s Controversial Tweets About Why Single Moms Should Not Have Baby Showers | Do You Agree?

A Twitter user recently shared a controversial opinion about why he thinks single mothers DO NOT deserve a baby shower.

@DariusAinThere took to twitter to rant about the undeserved love shown to single mothers. According to him, You can’t treat a single mother the same way you treat an engaged woman because you’re disrespecting engaged women when this is done.

Read what he wrote:

“Single mothers DO NOT deserve baby showers. Baby showers are a REWARD. You CANNOT reward a single mother with the same party as a woman that found a husband. Your home girl had three baby showers. Every time there were different niggas there. When y’all gonna tell her she’s doing bad?. You can’t treat a single mother the same way you treat an engaged woman. You’re disrespecting the engaged woman when you do this’s. Most single parents would tell you having a kid was a mistake. We all know that these singles parents are struggling and they weren’t in their situation. Black people have got to stop enabling this single parenting behavior like the shit is cute. But, we treat them like heros like raising kids by yourself is some badge of honor.”

Now the big question. Is he making any sense?

In my own opinion, Baby shower is a way to celebrate the expected or delivered birth of a child by presenting gifts to the mother at a party, whereas other cultures host a baby shower to celebrate the transformation of a woman into a mother.

Let us not forget the fact that the baby isn’t aware of this celebration as it is done while in mama’s womb. So obviously, the baby shower is done for the baby.

So why be ashamed because the baby’s father refused to stand up and confidently show up as a daddy, or because he is not willing to be a daddy or because as a lady- you are having a baby out of wedlock?
