TV Presenter Charlotte Hawkins Talks About the Pressure She Felt to Have Kids

The presenter of Good Morning Britain, Charlotte Hawkins has opened up about the pressure she felt to have children. She gave birth to her first child two years ago at age 40.

She revealed that because she was an older woman, people talked so much about her having a child, when she would and all of that and this pressured her to have a child.

The 42-year-old mother of one was presenting Good Morning Britain today alongside Richard Madeley when they spoke about Jennifer Aniston ‘s frustration over pregnancy rumours.

And Charlotte, who gave birth to her first child two years ago, said that she thinks people probing about when you’re going to have children is ‘intrusive‘ and ‘no one else’s business’.

“Because I was an older woman and I faced years of people saying ‘Oh when are you going to have a baby?’ And actually, for us, we were trying and we couldn’t so it was a really sensitive issue.”

According to the mom, she believes that people just talk and put one in tight corners but do not really know much about their personal situations which is very unfair.

 “I think it’s really intrusive and I don’t think it’s anybody’s business and I think it’s upsetting. And now I’ve had one, of course you get the questions about the second baby, yes.

And I sort of want to say to people ‘Back off, because you don’t necessarily know people’s personal situations.”

According to MirrorsUK, In November 2014 Charlotte revealed she and her hubby Mark were on the verge of pursuing In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatment when she found she was expecting.

The stunning working mom said it took her a long while to accept the fact that she was pregnant because they have been trying for so long and it almost seemed like it would never work.

“It took a long while for it to sink in I was pregnant because we’d been trying for quite some time,” she said.

Charlotte was recently confirmed to be appearing on the show Strictly this year and she is very much thrilled about this as she revealed that she is a big fan of the show and can’t wait to be part of it.
