Gulder Ultimate Search Winner Shot Dead Was Expectant Father


Hector Oluwaseun Jobarteh, winner of the 2006 Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS) Season 3 was shot dead by unknown gunmen at his residence in New Oko-Oba area of Lagos State.

The new Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal said three persons were being interrogated over the killing of Jobarteh, a father of one, who was reportedly trailed to his home.

According to Dailypost reports, Commissioner Edgal gave an insight into how the incident occurred, he said that investigations over the ugly incident were still on:

 “Some yet-to-be identified hoodlums, pretending to be friends of the deceased, gained access into the apartment of Hector Jobarteh, 38, in the presence of his brother, one Victor Joberteh, at 8, Olufowora Close, New Oke-Oba.

They shot the said Hector on the chest without any dialogue and fled from the scene.”

Hector whose corpse has been moved to the mortuary is said to be an expectant dad. His wife, also a former GUS contestant was not in the country at the time of the incident.

Police reveal that before the incident, Hector had just returned from picking up his younger brother from Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

It was gathered that the gunmen reportedly knocked on his neighbour’s door downstairs and asked for the owner of the parked car.

When she told them the occupant stayed upstairs, they stormed his apartment and shot him. Since winning the reality TV competition, Hector has maintained a low profile.

We hope the killers are apprehended soon and made to face the full wrath of the law, however we send our condolences to the family. We wish his wife a safe delivery.
