VIDEO: South Korean Nurses Forced to Perform ‘Sexy Dance’ for High-Ranking Officials
A SOUTH Korean hospital has sparked outrage after nurses were allegedly forced to perform a “sexy dance” on stage in front of high-ranking officials earlier this year.
The Korean Nurses Association on Monday called for a thorough investigation of Hallym University’s Sacred Heart Hospital, located in the northern city of Chuncheon, the Korea Times reported.
“This is a grave challenge to the vocation and self-esteem of nurses,” the association said in a statement.

“There are numerous nurses who endure an intense workload, low paycheck and frequent overtime with their sense of duty and vocation. Considering this, the scandal was defamatory and offensive to these nurses.”
The scandal was sparked last week after a nurse posted a complaint on social media, along with photos and video of nurses in short pants and tube tops performing a sexually suggestive dance during an annual sports event in October.
“Those forced to dance are usually the newly hired nurses, who are unable to refuse such orders,” the nurse wrote on Friday, according to local media.

“We were forced to dance in front of high-ranking officials of the firm, who sat side-by-side at a long table.”
The post sparked a wave of allegations on social media from other nurses, who said they were required to perform similar dances for events held throughout the year meant to “comfort” patients.
“We had to lie down on the floor and spread our legs in front of patients and their guardians,” one nurse wrote.
Another said;
“Some even cried to express their extreme humiliation, but officials would always brush this off, saying they are making a big deal out of something everyone does.”
“It is devastating to hear the hospital officials claimed they did not know about the situation after this finally got out,” another wrote.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor said an internal review was under way.
“If we find legal problems, we will summon the hospital officials responsible,” an official told the Korea Times.
