Governor Rochas Okorocha’s First Son Slumps, Flown to London for Treatment

About the same period President Muhammadu Buhari’s first son Yusuf was hospitalized after a bike accident, the first son of Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, Aham Brendan Okorocha also took ill and has been flown overseas for urgent medical attention.

Aham, who is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in London for yet-to-be disclosed ailment allegedly slumped during Christmas week.

The sad news was disclosed Sunday afternoon at Uburu, Ebonyi state at the country home of former Governor of old Abia state and serving minister for Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu during the all important South East zonal meeting of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

While presenting his goodwill message to the party leaders, Onu explained the absence of Okorocha who is also the Chairman, Progressive Governors’ Forum.

“I had informed Governor Okorocha of this meeting and he had promised to be here.

“The governor however, called me back days after our conversation to explain that his son had taken ill and he will be taking him to London for treatment, and, as such, would not be able to attend the meeting. We pray that his son recovers quickly,” he said.

Onu thereafter prayed for the quick recovery of Aham Okorocha.

Sun quoted a close source to the Imo State first family as saying that Aham, a first Class Engineer, had slumped and was immediately rushed off to the hospital and subsequently flown overseas for treatment accompanied by the Governor and the Imo First lady, Nkechi.

The source confirmed the conspicuous absence of Aham at Sunday’s thanksgiving by the first family of the state at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ogboko.

  • They can fly their families abroad over everything, people have major issues like cancer and kidney failure but can’t even afford to go to LUTH.
