Crisis in OJB Jezreel’s Family as Late Singer’s Wife & Father Reportedly Fight Over Property

It seems all is not well in the family of the late Nigerian singer and music producer, OJB Jezreel who died on the 14th of June, 2016, after battling kidney problems, according to new report.

In a report by the New Telegraph, there are indications that the family of the iconic music producer is at war over the deceased’s property in Surulere, Lagos.

Sources reveal that OJB’s aged father, Chief Anthony Okungbowa, has asked his son’s widow and first wife, Mabel Babatunde Okungbowa, to vacate the house owned by the late singer.

Here’s the report according to the New Telegraph…

”And as you read this, the grouse has forced the lady to place a caveat that reads: “This House is Not for Sale” on the premises holding a four-bedroom flat bungalow and a duplex.

We learnt that Okungbowa requested that his daughter-in-law and son’s widow, Mabel, release OJB’s children to remain on the premises while their mother vacates.

It remains unclear why their misunderstanding degenerated to the point where a father-inlaw and his daughter-in-law would be at dagger drawn.

OJB’s two other wives had since vacated the house leaving Mabel, the one who donated kidney to OJB.

She has two kids with OJB namely Ayokunle, who recently graduated from the University of Lagos and Tolani who’s a student of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State.

Mabel, and her three children for the deceased.

Okungbowa’s argument is that the land upon which OJB’s mother, Isabella Abiodun Okungbowa (nee Pinheiro) built the house belongs to him. OJB later inherited the property after his mother’s death.

He renovated it and housed his three wives and children on the property until June 14, 2016 when he lost the battle to renal failure.

Very close family source insists that Mabel has the support of a number of OJB’s friends and colleagues and that she also enjoys the total backing of her pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Grace Chapel, in Surulere, who is a lawyer.”

You will recall that Mabel fondly called ‘Mama J‘ donated one of her kidneys to save her husband’s life following his diagnosis of kidney failure in 2013.

  • The Baba should have some seats, how old is he that at his age he’s still dragging property? Where does he want the woman that donated her kidney to his son and stood by him all through his ailment to go to? He should fear God Biko!

  • What a wicked man, apart from being the widow didn’t he think of the sacrifice she made for the son, God punish him there
