New Report Reveals Supposed Reasons Obasanjo’s Son, Olujonwo, Fled His Matrimonial Home, 7 Months After Wedding

Early this week, we reported how the son of former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo’s son, Olujonwo allegedly abandoned his wife, Tope Adebutu, daughter of billionaire businessman, Kessington Adebutu, just a few months after their elaborate wedding (read here).

The report further revealed that Olujonwo’s mother, Taiwo Obasanjo accused her son’s wife of maltreating him.

Mrs Taiwo claimed the maltreatment Olujonwo suffered in the hands of his wife made him move out of his home 7 months after his wedding.

Well, in a latest report on the matter, KemiAshefon learnt that Olujonwo left home around October 2017, which was about five months after his wedding to Tope.

According to a friend of Olujowon, Tope is violent. She slaps and assaults her hubby at will.

”She would tell Jonwo that she thought he is from a rich family but that she discovered he’s poor.”

Read the report according to KemiAshefon;

”Currently, the tension in the Obasanjo and Adebutu families can be cut with a knife. The reason isn’t far-fetched.

The much-talked about society wedding between Olujonwo Obasanjo and former Miss Tope Adebutu, which took place on May 11 and 13, 2017, seems to have hit the rock!

Kemiashefonlovehaven exclusively gathered that not only has Jonwo fled the home where he lived with his buxom wife, Tope, he is also incommunicado and all efforts to reach him by his wife and in-laws have proved abortive.

Quiet, easy-going and unassuming Jonwo, who is not known for violence was said to have fled from his wife, who is one of the daughters of Chief Kessington Adebutu, as a result of domestic violence he has been suffering in her hands.

A close friend of Jonwo, who craved anonymity revealed:

“He left home around October 2017, which was about five months after his wedding to Adebutu’s daughter. The girl is violent, slaps him and assaults him at will. She would tell Jonwo that she thought he is from a rich family but that she discovered he’s poor!”

Poor? Why would a wife of an Obasanjo’s son refer to him as poor?

“After their marriage, he was giving her N100,000 as feeding allowance for the home and she complained bitterly. She was not comfortable with Jonwo’s prudence and that had always been an issue with them even before they got married.

She would assault him but he has never laid a hand on her because of his nature. Aside that, she would threaten to destroy his name in the media if he retaliates,” Jonwo’s friend said.

So, where is Jonwo now?

“The last time I spoke with him, he was not in Nigeria. He had to abandon the home because his father and in-law insisted he stayed with his wife despite the fact that he has reported her violent acts to them.

They don’t want the marriage to crash in order to save their faces,” sources said again.”

Sometime last year, Mrs Taiwo Obasanjo filed a suit in an Ikeja High Court, seeking to move the wedding of their son to Tope, to any date after June 1 which is Olujuwon’s 34th birthday (read here) but she lost the suit.

Mrs. Obasanjo’s objection to the timing of the wedding based on a prophecy, maintained that her son’s wedding should be a quiet event.

But despite her objection, the wedding went ahead in her absence.

  • If only they had allowed his mom have her way about this wedding last year maybe this wouldn’t have happened.

  • Tope Adebutu  The feelers we are getting from social circles is that the marriage that was consummated between the two prominent families in Yoruba land seems to be heading for the rocks. The families of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former President and the Lotto king billionaire Chief Adebutu Kessington were high in the moon when their children were locked in holy matrimony. Tope Adebutu, daughter of billionaire Adebutu Kessington, sadly never bargainied for what is happening in her marriage. Her marriage with Olujonwon, son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, is in trouble.
