Hollywood Stars, Jennifer Aniston & Justin Theroux, Release Joint Statement On Split After Less Than 3 Years of Marriage

Actress, Jennifer Aniston, 49 and her husband Justin Theroux, 46, have announced their separation.

On Thursday afternoon, the couple surprised pop culture fans when they announced their separation after less than three years of marriage.

The pair, who reportedly met on the set of comedy film Wanderlust, said the mutual decision was “lovingly made” at the end of last year, E! News reports.

They gave no reason for the split and said they intended to continue their “cherished friendship”.

The couple said in a joint statement:

“In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year.

We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.

Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly.

Jennifer celebrated her 49th birthday recently, which she and Theroux spent apart. She celebrated it in Malibu, California with a gathering alongside pals Courteney Cox and co. on Sunday.

The former couple got engaged in August of 2012 and got married in a secret wedding on August of 2015. The former couple had been together for four years before the wedding, which took place at their Bel Air mansion.

While there’s no denying the fact that Jennifer and Justin had chemistry and love for one another, some close to the couple had their doubts that this romance would truly last forever.

According to an E! News source;

“Jennifer and Justin fell in love hard and fast and yet they were never really suited to one another. He was a New York hipster that loved the alternative lifestyle and Jennifer was living a much more reclusive life when they first started to fall in love.

The initial chemistry between them made it easy for them to ignore their differences and incompatibility.”

Justin Theroux, a cousin of British documentary maker Louis Theroux, is an American actor, writer and director.

This was her second marriage. She was married to fellow actor Brad Pitt for five years, but they divorced in 2005.
