Dear MIMsters: Will My Plan Have a Bad Effect on My Kids?

I need the advice of good home managers to help me out on this. Will my plan have a bad effect on my kids? I have 2 kids, a 3-year-old and a 6 months old baby.

I run a business while hubby is busy working elsewhere. I close the business at 8:30pm and sometimes at 9 p.m. I usually get home between 9:30 or 10 p.m.

Then I need about one to two hours to shower myself and th kids before I start preparing dinner. By the the time I’m done, it’s 11 p.m., or 12 a.m. That’s when I get to go to bed.

I wake up every morning at 6 a.m. to get my daughter ready for school, then drop her off before going to my shop. Sometimes I’m late because I wake up at 8 a.m. I plan to stop bathing them in the morning.

The question is: if I can no longer meet up with bathing the kids in the morning before we leave, would it be wrong to take them to school without giving them a bath? Will this have a bad effect on them?

On Sunday, we bath in the morning before going to church and also in the evening, in preparation for Monday morning.

We are based abroad where everyone is on their own without any help. Really, this has not been easy for me.

  • If they bath at night then they don’t necessarily need to take a shower the following morning. It’s not like they did anything at night that makes them sweat or dirty it’s just sleep. I don’t think it will have any effect just make sure they take a shower before going to bed.
