Family Drama as Meghan Markle’s Brother Begs Prince Harry to Call Off The Wedding
Just two weeks before the royal wedding, Meghan Markle‘s estranged half-brother has penned a handwritten open letter urging her fiance Prince Harry to call off the wedding.
In a handwritten letter addressed to Prince Harry, Thomas Markle Jr, criticised his sister and warned Prince Harry it is not “too late” to call off the wedding.
“As more time passes to your royal wedding, it became very clear that this is the biggest mistake in royal wedding history,” Tom warns.
In the letter, which was shared by In Touch magazine, 51-year-old Thomas urged Harry to dump her before it’s too late:
“This is the biggest mistake in royal wedding history. Meghan Markle is obviously not the right woman for you.
She is a “jaded, shallow, conceited woman that will make a joke of you and the royal family heritage.”
According to Thomas, who has not seen his half-sister since 2011, it was the fact that the American actress did not invite her family to her upcoming royal wedding on 19 May 2018, instead inviting “complete strangers,” that struck a nerve with her half-brother, who asked: “Who does that?”
But Thomas insists he is not hurt over not being invited.
“I’m not bitter, just baffled,” he told The Mirror. “It’s hurtful given how close we once were.”
In the letter, Thomas blames Hollywood fame for allegedly changing Markle, who starred on Suits until recently.
“It’s very apparent that her tiny bit of Hollywood fame has gone to her head, changing her into a jaded, shallow, conceited woman that will make a joke of you and the royal family heritage,” he wrote.
Concluding his letter, Thomas accuses Markle of keeping their “torn family” apart by not inviting them to the royal wedding, but admits that Markle is “still my sister.”
Earlier this year, Markle’s brother claimed that their father was “extremely hurt” by Prince Harry’s statement that the royals are the “family she never had”.
Thomas Markle Jr told Daily Mirror that his younger sister has “forgotten her roots” and likes to portray herself as a “people’s person.”
“She is giving the greatest performance of her life. She is acting phoney. Once she got into Hollywood she turned into a different person. She’s clearly forgotten her roots and her family.”
He added that Meghan “obviously” had a family, who “smothered her with love” and whom she celebrated every holiday with.
“She’s had a really good family,” he said. ”We were as close as we could be, as tight as we could be, that’s what we were.
“She was very privileged. She got everything she ever wanted. We did the best that we could in terms of getting together for holidays and whatnot.”
Markle’s fiance Prince Harry had told the BBC that his wife-to-be had enjoyed a “fantastic” Christmas at Sandringham and that the Royal Family “loved having her there”.
“I think we’ve got one of the biggest families that I know of, and every family is complex as well,” he said.
“She’s done an absolutely amazing job. She’s getting in there and it’s the family I suppose that she’s never had. My father… dedicated the majority of all his time and everything to her. He made sure she had what she needed to be successful and get to where she’s at today.”

His comments followed those made by Meghan’s half-sister Samantha Markle, who said the actress grew up surrounded by a huge family.
Samantha Markle wrote on Twitter:
“Actually she has a large family who were always there with her and for her.
“Our household was very normal and when dad and Doria divorced, we all made it so it was like she had two houses. ‘No one was estranged, she was just too busy.”
