For This Touching Reason, Wesley Ryan Bursts Into Tears When His Children Gave Him A Surprise Gift

47-year old Wesley Ryan received the shock of his life when his children surprised him with his favourite car. He had sold the car years back, and used the proceeds to settle the medical bills of his wife, who had cancer.

Wesley Ryan cherished his 1993 Mustang, lovingly dubbed “Christine.” The Mustang was, essentially, a part of the family, according to Fox News.

So when his wife, Laura was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 17 years ago as a young mom, Wesley sold the white 1993 Ford Mustang GT to help pay for her medical bills.

His children, Jake and Jeni, decided to surprise him with the car as a reward for the sacrifice he made for their mom years back.

According to Jake, selling the car was the greatest sacrifice his dad made for the family, because the vehicle was really dear to him.

“One of the biggest sacrifices I’ve seen him have to make for us, for all of us. I know how much it broke him in half seeing that car drive away from him. A day I’ll never forget,” Jade said.

Wesley was really touched by his children’s gift, so much that he broke down in tears after the car was presented to him at a departmental store. The touching moment was captured on video.

“The materialistic things is not me. I never expected to see that car again,” he says, although it did break his heart to see it go.

For Wesley, his happiness was with his wife, who is now 13 years cancer-free, and the success of his children.

Shows where they are: they are balanced human beings. My wife and I have succeeded, we’ve raised productive adults, it’s the strongest, most powerful feeling that a parent can have.”

In January, 2018; Wesley’s mom passed away.

“It hit me like a brick,” he says. “The kids told me I didn’t have my spark. They wanted my spark back.”

Jake, a car guru like his old man, is known to search Craigslist for new toys, and two years ago, he came across Christine. The car had the same VIN and the same familiar scuffs. When he contacted the owner, they weren’t able to agree on a price, and he let it go. But a few weeks ago, he found the car listed again.

“He found my car again, and this time, he told himself there were no excuses,” Wesley recounts to Yahoo Lifestyle.

“It was coming home. He called my daughter, and she got with her boyfriend. The three of them put their money together,” he said. “They brought her home.”

Interestingly, Jake was able to purchase the vehicle back from the new owner who was selling it off to help raise funds for her mom who’s been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and needed the money for treatment.

Wesley says that he plans on putting both his wife’s name and the woman’s name on the car, when he and Jake are done with the repairs. Jake, on the other hand, said he can’t wait to help his dad work on the car and see what it’s like to ride up front in the “co-pilot” seat.

While speaking about his family, Wesley sounded as one on the verge of tears.

“I’m so blessed. I’m so proud. I’m so humbled.”
