Media Personality, Lolo Cynthia’s Stance On Marriage Causes Backlash
Media personality, Lolo Cynthia’s recent post on Twitter on marriage and surname change has landed the Child Rights Advocate in the centre of a backlash.
Lolo aired her controversial opinion on the set of one of her talk shows recently which was also shared in part on her Twitter handle, @Lolo_cy. It reads;
”I will not change my name unless the person I am with has a status that If I am associated with it, it opens doors for me,” she said.

Her opinion turned out to be unpopular with many of her followers who berated or unfollowed her page for the same reason.
She however took time to respond to the criticisms, not for once backing down from her initial stance in the video. In one of her responses to the backlash, she said:
“I’m losing followers because of this marriage and surname tweet.
We must have these conversations!! We must rise above the norm and challenge these notions embedded in us from childhood.. Dialogue.. Learn.. Unlearn.. We must increase our social awareness as a society.”
