“Anyone Caught Stealing Underpants Might Be Charged With Attempted Murder Henceforth”- PPRO, Dolapo Badmos
Just as the year 2018 was moving to a end, a growing report of theft of ladies’ underpants proliferated the news across different Nigerian states, after many perpetrators were caught and arrested by vigilant members of community or police.

The wide speculation is that the underwear thefts are for ritual, get-rich-quick schemes, and arrests have been made in 2019 regarding fresh cases of stolen panties even though the year is only about 5 days old.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Zone 2, Dolapo Badmos has now reacted to the national issue in a post she made on her Instagram page, she wrote:
“What is the in thing about increase in stealing of underpants?! Learnt the ones caught in the act always confess to be using it for rituals whereof the owner dies prematurely????…..
Henceforth anyone caught stealing pants might not be charged for stealing but attempted murder????????♀️????????♀️This has to stop ???? ✋”
