Award-Winning British Singer and Mum-of-One, Adele, In £145m Divorce Tussle
Award-winning British singer and mum-of-one, Adele, 30, has separated from her US-born CEO husband Simon Konecki, 44, after three years of marriage.
The singer’s representatives said on Friday:
‘Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy.’
Her spokespeople, Benny Tarantini, and Carl Fysh, said the star would be making no further comment on the matter.
Adele who met her charity entrepreneur husband in 2011 secretly got married to him in 2016. She confirmed the union on-stage as she picked up a Best Album Award at the 2017 Grammys.
During an emotional acceptance speech, she said:
‘I’m married! My husband, my son, you’re the only reason I do it.’
The couple who both recently announced their shock split after three years of marriage will reportedly be heading for a £145 million divorce battle.
According to The Mirror, Adele and Simon are said to have made the decision to go their separate ways before Christmas. Rumours over the state of their marriage began in February after charity entrepreneur Simon, 45, showed up to this year’s Brit Awards without the singer, 30, by his side.
A source told the website:
‘The Brits were confirmation in a way. Everyone was hoping Adele would come but she stayed away.
Things had already broken down for a while.
There were whispers running up to the Brits that Adele and Simon’s relationship was over,
but Simon was in such a good mood at the party, everyone hoped it wasn’t true,’
The former couple – who share son Angelo, six, are now said to be gearing up for a multi-million-pound divorce which could see Simon entitled to up to half of the Tottenham-born hitmaker’s £145m fortune.
They are understood not to have signed a pre-nup agreement.
