She said:

“It was pretty hard watching my mum got through that and being in that situation with everything that went down in my family. You know we grow up pretty fast.

Every kid going through a traumatic experience would blame themselves because they feel somewhat responsible, because that’s your mum, that’s your family and you only get one.

So when you’re trying to do everything in your power to help them, and you can’t, and you’re helpless you’re like, ‘damn, this is partly my fault’. But it’s never the kid’s fault.”

The 20-year-old continued:

It wasn’t easy but I had my family and I have stayed pretty strong. Having my mum as Scary Spice, Mel B you can’t be a wimp.

My mum is such an independent woman, it shocks me she can just be amazing on TV and be so nervous but you wouldn’t even think – she’s a natural..

She’s a good mum and a good friend, and I love you and you’re doing great.”

Touched by her daughter’s words, Mel explained how they both have a good relationship.
