Amazon Founder, Jeff Bezos, And Author MacKenzie Finalise Divorce With A Whopping $38bn Settlement

Author MacKenzie Bezos, the ex-wife of the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, has automatically become the third world richest woman after she got her divorce settlement. This is coming three months after the couple announced a divorce settlement was in the pipeline.

A Seattle-area judge on Friday finalized their divorce with a $38 billion settlement, making her the third richest woman, Bloomberg News reported. According to the agreement, MacKenzie will receive approximately 19.7 million Amazon.com shares, equivalent to a four percent stake in the company and valued at $38.3 billion, while Jeff Bezos will retain a 12 percent stake and remain the world’s richest man.

The novelist, MacKenzie agreed to give all of her stake in the Washington post and the space exploration firm Blue Origin to Jeff, as well as voting control of her remaining Amazon stock, adding that she would donate half her fortune to charity.
