Funke Akindele Shares Her Thoughts On Boundaries Between Her Husband And Her Friends
Celebrity mum-of-twins, Funke Akindele-Bello aka Jenifa was on the popular breakfast show on TVC- Your view. The 41-year-old mum was responding to questions about personal spaces, the space of friendship in marriage and whether she considered it appropriate for her girlfriends to freely call her husband’s phone.
Funke who married her husband, Abdurasheed Bello, aka JJC Skills in 2016 after a first failed attempt at marriage between 2012 and 2013 responded that she finds it unacceptable for her friends to feel so cozy with her husband that they start exchanging casual phone calls or text messages.
The mum-of-two who welcomed her twin sons with JJC in December last year said it would be okay if her friends called her husband only on his birthdays and rarely when they want to reach her but cannot. Other than that, the Nollywood producer says its a breach of personal space for her friends to freely call her man’s phone.

For me, personal space is personal space. Your best friend has to stay in her lane. Your friend can come to your house, your husband can know your best friend, he can say hello but why would she be calling my husband on the phone? Except its his birthday”
Another guest on the show said it had nothing to do with being insecure if a woman does not want her friends to casually call her husband, according to her, it is about respect and setting boundaries.
