Meet This Young Nigerian Mum, Haneefah Adam, Who Gained Global Recognition For Making Art From Leftover Food

Nigerian mum Haneefah Adam, is in the league of young trailblazers and holds an unmistakable spot in the circle of young women who serve inspiration globally. The mum-of-one who holds a Masters degree in Pharmacology and Drug Discovery from Coventry University, UK, is promoting the country’s image in a brilliant way, but it is not her academic prowess that has made her so sought after.

The food artist, trained as a medical scientist is widely acclaimed within and outside the shores of Nigeria doubles as a creative visual artist who plies her craft by converting food leftovers into creative art statements, but she does so much more with her multi-dimensional creative gift.

As an artist, the mum draws her inspiration from society and employs food as materials, she creates real brilliant portraits as well and is good with culinary art forms, doing so in the manner not many would think to explore.

The food artist aged 28, is using food leftovers to make arts and beautiful portraits, adding that she has always been artistic all her life, CNN reports.

“I have always been artistic. Growing up, my mother said I had a flair for art,”

she said.

Haneefah first became famous in 2015 for making a hijab-wearing doll which she called Hijarbie.

Remaking food into art is a new creative career she is building, adding that she does regular portraits but that what really excites her is food.

She is inspired by general random things which include culture and life experiences, drawing her art ideas from things around her.
