Who Knew Eating Bad Groundnuts Could Damage The Liver? See All The Do’s And Don’ts Of A Healthy Liver According To Dr. Nonso

Twitter-famous Nigerian physician, Dr. Nonso, popularly known as ‘Aproko Doctor’ on the app has shared a number of seeming easy steps to take in order to guard against liver damage or cancer.  The health practitioner who often shares insights on topical health issues vi his Twitter handle @Aprokodoctor highlighted in a new Twitter thread the do’s and don’ts of a healthy liver.

According to the award-winning physician, losing weight in case of obesity and getting vaccinated against the Hepatitis B Virus are some of the steps to take to promote a healthy liver. Eating old or bad groundnuts and abuse of prescription medicines are some of the triggers for liver cancer or damage according to him.

. Don’t eat old/bad groundnuts/bread

. Don’t abuse alcohol

. Lose weight if you’re obese

. Vaccinate against Hepatitis B

. Stop sharing sharp objects

. Abstain or have safe sex

. Stop smoking

. Don’t misuse medication

Old or bad groundnuts or grains may contain a fungus that produces a toxin knows as aflatoxin that has been linked to liver cancer.

If they look or taste funny, please abandon. Always store in airtight containers and refrigerate.
