American Comedian & Actress Mo’Nique Gets Emotional After Hitting Fitness Milestone

For the past few years, American ace comedian and veteran actress Mo’Nique has been dedicated to taking control of her health. The actress, who admitted to weighing up to 300 pounds when she filmed the 2009 movie Precious, has been diligent about eating healthy and working out regularly. The results are certainly paying off.

This week, Mo’Nique gave an update to her followers about an amazing fitness milestone she’s always wanted to achieve. In an Instagram video filmed in front of a local race track, she shares the good news. “When [my trainer] first brought me out to this track, he would let me walk half and then I had to run, ” she explained.

“I said to him, ‘One day, I want to be able to run around this track twice without stopping.’ Well, today was that day. I made it around this track twice without stopping.”

As the video continues, Mo’Nique gets emotional as she soaks in this impressive victory.

“I’m telling y’all, if you don’t quit on you, you’ll get what you’re asking for. Just don’t quit on you. It doesn’t come overnight. It doesn’t come through no magic potion or a special wand or processed boxed meals from a weight loss program. It comes from right here [pointing to her heart].”

Mo’Nique spoke of her inspiring weight loss journey with fans back in 2018. At the time, she revealed that she was officially the smallest she had been in her adult life.

“Since I was 17 years old, I’ve been over 200 pounds,”

she said.

“Today was the first time in my adult life that I’ve been under 200 pounds, so I wanted to let you all know it’s possible and you can do it and we can get there.”

In addition to exercising multiple times a week, Mo’Nique is also diligent about healthy eating. The comedian shared that one of the ways she’s able to stay fit while on the road is to cook her own meals.
