Celebrity Dad, Lionel Richie Opens Up About Daughter, Sofia’s Age-gap Relationship With Dad-Of-Three, Scott Disick

American singer-songwriter Lionel Richie has shared his thoughts on his 21-year-old daughter, Sofia’s relationship with Scott Disick, 36. The Grammy award winning pop star who initially thought his daughter’s relationship with the dad-of-three was a ‘phase’ says he has now come to accept it for what it is despite his reservations.

Speaking with E! News, Richie revealed that while he has “accepted” that Sofia is dating Scott, he is still not 100 percent on board with it but that he values his relationship with his daughter and will keep his reservations to himself.

Lionel admitted that he has had ‘hesitations’ about his daughter dating Kourtney Kardashian’s ex as they have a 15-year age gap.

According to reports, Disick and Sofia sparked dating rumours in 2017, when she was 19 and at that point, her dad Richie, was indifferent.

It was gathered that he thought it was only a ‘phase’ and he was waiting for it to fizzle out, however, he has been smacked with another reality as the couple remain strongly in love, two years on.

As the relationship grows, Richie in a recent interview stated that he values his relationship with his daughter and is going to be supportive as he can be even though he is not a 100 percent on board with the love affair.
